We received a telephone call from a member of the public regarding what they thought was a lobster. The lobster had been found in the back dark passage of their house.
On arrival at Weirfield it was found to be a crayfish but a non-native crayfish to British waters. Our British Cray fish are about 40mm long and this one was much bigger. |
A Whimbrel for which was a first at Weirfield.
It was found local to Lincoln and brought in by someone’s cat. Unfortunately the cat had caused some wing damage which had become infected, despite anti-biotics and care the Whimbrel died. |
